The Austin Séance accepts guest Articles.
The Austin Séance accepts guests articles for its website and for The Austin Séance Quarterly Journal. Interested in an historical spiritualist figure? An historical event? We pay a standard fee of $75 for accepted submissions, upon publication.
We consider completed articles, as well as original pitches. Send queries to Jake Cordero at TheAustinSeance@gmail.com. Writers should check all facts before submission and have documentation available. Please include your name, telephone number and email address with your submission.
We pay for content relating to the history of the American spiritualist movement, spiritualist devices, documented hauntings and descriptions of spooky travel destinations — especially those in Texas. Have an idea not listed here? Send us a query and we can discuss. Journalistic and historically factual reporting only. Submissions typically run approximately 500 words. We do not pay for AI-created content, which, to the best of our ability, we have banned from this website and from The Austin Séance Quarterly Journal. Please note that we routinely review submissions with AI and plagiarism software and we will ban writers found to have submitted such content.
Keep in mind that we also will need a high-resolution public domain image to illustrate your article, or some other high-resolution image for which we will have demonstrable reproduction rights.
