SÉANCE and WORKSHOP APPEARANCES
News, news and more news. First off, thanks for everyone who joined us March 29 at San Antonio’s Villa Finale mansion. The annual event commemorating the first Fox Sisters séance of 1848 was a sell-out success and we received a strong indication of contact with one of the mansion’s previous deceased owners, a man named Bill Keilman.
And now — onward! We’ve begun scheduling additional workshops and séances for the spring and summer, beginning with appearances on May 2nd and May 3rd at Scream Hollow, near Bastrop, Texas. We also have a May 17th lecture and workshop scheduled at the upcoming Psychic and Spirit Fest in San Antonio, hosted by our friends at Curious Twins Paranormal; and on June 13 — that is, Friday the 13th — we’ll conduct a ouija workshop at Captain Quack’s, in South Austin. Watch our website for details of these events and others.
THE AUSTIN SÉANCE APPEARS ON JESSE BENNETT PODCAST
More news? In early April, the Jesse Bennett Podcast dropped a a long-form interview with us in which we spent about 90 minutes discussing séance history, ectoplasm, religious philosophy, psychology, ghosts and some other stuff. Thanks to Mr. Bennett for having us on. You can watch it here.
NEW EDITION OF QUARTERLY JOURNAL OUT NOW
The spring edition of The Austin Séance Quarterly Journal is OUT NOW. Our cover story focuses on famed Italian medium Eusapia Palladino, a woman now remembered as one of the most tested mediums in world history. We also have articles on psychic spoon bending, haunted houses, a Rice University professor’s work on the occult, and a Civil War era occultist.
As a free mailed-to-their-home gift, our Patreon supporters also received a copy of our first annual compendium of printed content. The compendium incudes reproductions of two quarterly journals, a tea-leaf reading guide and additional content.
